Suffolk police say they are searching for missing Setauket woman with schizophrenia

Suffolk County police have issued a Silver Alert for Dale Cherney, 29, who suffers from schizophrenia. She was last seen on May 29, 2015, at her home on Old Field Road. Police said Wednesday they are searching for a missing Setauket woman who suffers from schizophrenia and are asking for the public's help in locating her.

Suffolk County police said they have issued a Silver Alert for Dale Cherney, 29. She was last seen at her home on Old Field Road Friday. The Silver Alert program allows law enforcement officials to share information with the media and the public regarding missing people who have "special needs."

Cherney is 5-foot-3 and 130 pounds with a medium build. She has brown eyes and curly brown hair, police said.

Police are asking anyone with information regarding her whereabouts to contact Sixth Squad detectives at 631-854-8652.
