Suffolk County police said they were investigating an officer-involved shooting outside a Best Buy store in Bay Shore last night.

A police spokeswoman said Third Precinct officers responded to a call about 7:46 p.m. regarding a possible theft at the store at 1851 Sunrise Highway.

Police said the shooting was under investigation, and no details were immediately available about the identity or condition of the person shot.

The incident occurred just before the store's 8 p.m. closing time.
