Suffolk police to hold property auction Wednesday

Hand and power tools, automotive items and electronics are among the items available at a Suffolk County police auction on Wednesday at the department's headquarters in Yaphank.

Police said in a Monday news release that its Property Section will stage the event starting at 8:30 a.m. at 30 Yaphank Ave., Yaphank.

Also available are furniture, gun scopes and cases, clothing, bicycles and jewelry. Motor vehicles and motorcycles will not be sold, the release said.

The event will be held rain or shine, and all items will be sold "as is." All purchases are subject to state sales tax; payments must be made in cash.

In the case of severe weather, information on a scheduling change will be posted at suffolkpd.org, or be available by calling 631-852-6862.
