Suffolk County police have identified a pedestrian who died after being struck by a taxi early Saturday in Copiague.Alex Medina, 38, of Wyandanch, was hit at Great Neck Road and Campagnoli Avenue about 1:38 a.m., police said. He was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip with critical injuries, police said in a news release.

He was trying to cross Great Neck Road when he was struck by a southbound Sunset Airport and Limousine Service taxi driven by Robert Miller, police said.

Miller, 52, of Lindenhurst, was not injured.

Detectives are continuing the investigation.
