Trio sought in robbery of East Farmingdale deli, police say

Police are searching for three men -- one armed with a handgun, another with a large knife -- who robbed an East Farmingdale deli on Monday night before fleeing the scene in a white four-door sedan.

The robbery took place at the Conklin Deli on Conklin Street at 9:30 p.m., Nassau County police said.

It was not immediately clear how much was taken.

Police said there were no reported injuries.

The three suspects each wore blue jeans with dark jackets and hoods, and the man armed with a handgun ordered an employee to hand over cash from the register, police said. The employee complied.

Meanwhile, police said the suspect armed with a large knife ordered another employee and a customer to remove their wallets and jewelry and hand them over -- and said those victims also complied.

The suspects then fled in the car east on Conklin.

Police are asking anyone with information regarding the robbery to call First Squad detectives at 631-854-8152 or Crime Stoppers at 800-220-TIPS. All calls will remain confidential.
