Two westbound SSP lanes reopen after crash

Two lanes of the westbound Southern State Parkway in the North Amityville area were closed Sunday after a single-car crash, state police said, but they were later reopened.

The crash took place sometime between 2:15 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. in the westbound lanes of the Southern State Parkway near Exit 32. The lanes opened up again between 3:30 p.m. and 4 p.m., state police said.

The left and center lanes of the parkway had been closed in the area of the crash.

An ambulance was dispatched to the scene, but state police were unable to say whether anyone was injured.
