Waterway dredging completed, sand moved to Moriches beaches, Zeldin says

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers completed a $3 million dredging project along the Long Island Intracoastal Waterway, making boating safer and mitigating flooding, officials said on Monday, Feb. 4, 2019. Rep. Lee Zeldin (R-Shirley) spoke about the project, which restored six-foot depth to about 2.7 miles of waterway in Moriches Bay, during a news conference at Webby Beach in Center Moriches.
