Woman sought in theft of package from in front of Huntington apartment, cops say

She stole a package from in front of an apartment in Huntington in July, police said.

Now, Suffolk County police are asking you to help find the woman, who was captured in surveillance video leaving the scene carrying a white pocketbook -- and wearing dark-colored pants and a dark-colored T-shirt that read: "Don't place too much trust in experts."

The theft occurred on Stewart Avenue on July 24 at about 7:20 p.m., police said.

Police said the woman removed "numerous items" from the package, placing them in her pocketbook. The items were valued at about $300.

Police said the woman wore her hair in a bun.

She was last seen walking south on Stewart.

Police are asking anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will remain confidential.
