Woman strikes police car, charged with DWI

A Kings Park woman who, police said, was driving while intoxicated with her two children in the car was arrested Monday night after her vehicle struck the back of a marked New York State Park police car.

Tiffany Stiskin, 35, who had her children, ages 1 and 7 in the 2011 Kia she was driving, struck the police car at 9 p.m. at Route 25A and Church Street in Kings Park, police said. The officer was stopped at a traffic light at the time.

The officer, who had been on routine patrol, sustained minor injuries. Neither Stiskin nor her children were injured. The children were turned over to the care of their father, police said.

Stiskin was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated with children under age 15 and endangering the welfare of a child. She was arraigned Tuesday in Suffolk County First District Court and remanded to the Riverhead jail on $10,000 bail, $20,000 bond.

She is due back in court April 27.
