The Kings Park farmers market is to open June 7 for the 2015 season.

"The market continues to grow and people want it back," market co-founder Aly Elish-Swartz said. "It's important for me to give back to the community that I grew up in and it's also important to support our local agriculture."

The market was started in 2011 by the Kings Park Civic Association in conjunction with the LI Green Market Inc.

New this year is craft beer brewer Saint James Brewery, she said. Past vendors set to return include Fink's Country Farm of Manorville, Blue Duck Bakery of Southampton, and Thera Farms of Ronkonkoma, offering organic produce and beef.

The Kings Park farmers market also plans to feature weekly festivals and entertainment, starting with a Strawberry Festival on opening day.

The market is held on Sundays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. through Nov. 22 at the municipal parking lot on Route 25A at Church Street, across from the Kings Park Fire Department.
