Artists will be showing their works and animals will be available for adoption at the Port Jefferson Art Walk and Animal Adoption Awareness Weekend, May 21-22.

The self-guided art walk will wind around stores on East Main Street, where several artists, photographers and designers will exhibit their works and be available to discuss them.

Participants can show off their own artistry with chalk on designated streets, and children can engage in henna painting and sand art at one boutique, Breathe.

As part of the event, more than a dozen animal rescue groups will have booths showcasing adoptable animals. One, the Long Island Bulldog Rescue, will feature a fund-raising kissing booth.

The event is sponsored by the village’s Economic Development Council.
