St. Boniface Episcopal Church in Lindenhurst is holding Bonifest, a celebration of the church and the community, this weekend.
The festival’s events include an outdoor movie Friday, beginning at 7 p.m., a concert and fish fry on Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m., and a Homecoming Mass Sunday at 9 a.m., followed by a carnival and games from noon to 8 p.m.
Another part of the weekend’s festivities is a health and wellness fair on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. which will include blood pressure checks, diabetes education and other health-related activities.
Bonifest will take place on church grounds, at 100 46th St.

Charity walk. In honor of National Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, the Christina Renna Foundation is holding a mile run or walk and blood drive on Sunday at Lindenhurst Middle School, 350 South Wellwood Ave. Registration begins at 8 a.m., with the run-walk and blood drive starting at 9 a.m. Proceeds from the event are being donated to Linda Van Aelst, a researcher at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory for cancer research. German festival. Breslau Engine Company 1 of the Lindenhurst Fire Department is hosting its annual German festival on Sunday from 1 to 7 p.m. The festival will include German music, beer and food, including sauerbraten, potato pancakes, knockwurst, hot pretzels and more. It will be held at the Firemen's Memorial Park Pavilion, located at Heiling Boulevard and Charles Street.
'Rumors' on stage. Theater comes to the BACCA Performing Arts Center in Lindenhurst on Sept. 24 and 25, as the South Shore Theatre Experience and BACCA present Neil Simon’s “Rumors.” BACCA is also hosting an eight-week acting class on Thursday nights for children ages 10 to 17 starting Sept. 29. Moose Lodge events. The Lindenhurst Moose Lodge has a number of upcoming events: a ’70s dance night on Saturday from 8 p.m. to midnight; a family breakfast on Sunday from 9 to 11 a.m.; and an all-you-can-eat pasta dinner on Sept. 27 from 6 to 8 p.m. All events will be held at the lodge, located at 883 South Broadway.
