People attending the Nesconset summer concert series may feel like they’ve gone back in time to the 1960s and ’70s.
The five-week series will feature tribute bands playing music by classic rockers such as The Beatles, Elton John and Billy Joel. The series started Tuesday night with That ’70s Band, playing hits by artists such as Earth, Wind & Fire, Kool & The Gang, Chic and Donna Summer.
All shows are free and will be at the gazebo next to the Nesconset branch of the Smithtown Public Library on Smithtown Boulevard. Call 631-724-2543 to see if a show has been rescheduled due to inclement weather.
Other shows will feature Elton John tribute band Rocketman on July 10, Beatles music by Liverpool Shuffle on July 17, Billy Joel tunes by Songs in the Attic on July 24, and Full House -- which plays music from the 1960s through the ’80s -- on July 31.
Donations of food and cash will be collected by representatives of Long Island Cares.
