Benefit for Medford shooting victim, family

Friends of the family of Jaime Taccetta, who was killed on Father’s Day in the Medford pharmacy shooting, are planning comedy shows to raise money for her grave marker and for her daughters.

The shows, at 4 and 8 p.m. Oct. 22 at the Medford Fire Department, have been organized by Merci Alese. Her husband works at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Coram, where Taccetta was buried, and met the family then.

Alese said she and her husband befriended the family as they returned to visit her grave and wanted to do something for them.

“They’re a wonderful family,” she said. “I decided to step forward and do what I can. It just touched my heart.”

Tickets are $36.50 at comedytogoinc.com or $45 at the door, she said. The price also includes a buffet dinner, soft drinks, a raffle and auction.
