Black ice conditions likely Thursday

Thursday’s light snowfall could lead to rough conditions for Long Island motorists throughout the evening and overnight, weather forecasters predicted.

Moisture on the road combined with freezing temperatures will lead to black ice in some areas, according to a warning the National Weather Service issued for all of Long Island just after 5 p.m.

Motorists are urged to slow down and use extra caution while traveling on untreated surfaces.
