The Syosset Fire Department and David Lerner Associates, Inc. are teaming up for a blood drive Tuesday from 2 p.m.-8 p.m. for injured FDNY firefighter Robert Wiedmann.

Wiedmann, 38, of Islip Terrace, was severely burned while fighting a fire in Brooklyn on Dec. 19. He is currently being treated at New York-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center in Manhattan. Wiedmann’s mother, Irene Wiedmann, is an employee at David Lerner Associates, Inc., a Syosset investment firm.

Wiedmann is still facing several surgeries, and all donations of blood type O negative will go to his treatment, according to a David Lerner Associates representative. The drive is accepting donations of all blood types in his honor.

The blood drive will take place at Syosset Fire Department headquarters, 50 Cold Spring Rd. For more information or to schedule an appointment, contact Rande Hirsch at 516-390-5504 or
