Town boards across the Island will meet on Thursday, and budgets are topping the agenda.
The Islip Town Board will hold a budget hearing at 10:30 a.m. at Town Hall, 655 Main St., Islip.
Town Supervisor Phil Nolan is proposing a $117 million budget for 2011, a 3 percent increase over last year. More on the proposed budget here.
The Southold Town Board will hold a work session at 9 a.m. and two budget hearings throughout the day, at 4 and 7 p.m. All meetings will be held at Town Hall, 53095 Route 25, Southold.
An agenda for the board’s work session was not available, but a copy of the proposed budget is available on the Southold Town website.
The town of Babylon will hold a public hearing on its proposed 2011 budget at 3:30 p.m. at Town Hall, 200 E. Sunrise Hwy, Lindenhurst.
The town is offering a $140.56 million budget that provides for a $4.2 million tax cut.

The East Hampton Town Board will hold budget hearing at 7 p.m. at Town Hall, 159 Pantigo Rd., East Hampton.
Town Supervisor Bill Wilkinson is proposing a $63.3 million budget, which reflects an 11-percent reduction over the 2010 budget.

In Nassau County, the North Hempstead Town Board will hold its budget hearing at 7 p.m. at Town Hall, 220 Plandome Rd., Manhasset.
Copies of the preliminary budget are available at Town Hall from 9 a.m.-4:45 p.m. Monday through Friday.
