Centereach High School kicked off its annual volleyball marathon Saturday morning, with more than 60 students and 15 staff members spiking and digging for five hours to raise money for charity.
Joy Losito, a social studies teacher and student activities director at the high school, said the event will raise about $2,000. A portion of the proceeds will go to Port Jefferson’s Hope House Ministries, which among many endeavors maintains a 30-bed home for homeless young people in need.
