The Children’s Maritime Museum has new digs in Port Jefferson, the village announced.
Once housed on the ground floor of the Village Center, the museum has moved next door to the renovated historic Chandlery building in the Port Jefferson Harborfront Park.
The museum is open to visitors from 1 to 5 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. Admission is $5.
The official ribbon cutting is scheduled for May 14.
“The historic Chandlery building, built 107 years ago, originally by the Bayles family as a provisioning store during Port Jefferson’s ship building era, is one of the last remaining buildings of this important era on the waterfront,” according to the museum.
