A Melville lawyer said Tuesday morning he is preparing to file a class action against the Long Island Power Authority and National Grid that will allege negligence, reckless disregard, intentional failure, and that the companies “grossly neglected vital maintenance” by Sandy.
Kenneth Mollins, who said he has already filed a notice of claim signaling his intent to file a case, said it will be filed in State Supreme Court in Nassau later Tuesday morning.
LIPA declined to comment Tuesday morning; representatives for National Grid were not immediately available for comment.
