Student artwork from the Copiague School District is brightening a darkened storefront in the Westfield Sunrise Shopping Center in Massapequa.
Starting Wednesday, select works from the superintendent’s art gallery are being featured in a display at the now-vacant Caravan store. The display is located on the mall’s first floor across from Lady Foot Locker and between New York and Co. and a Hallmark Shop.
Jennifer Pierre-Louis, coordinator of fine arts for the district, said the works will be changed every month, and Westfield has committed to keeping a student gallery at the mall permanently. So if the store is filled, a gallery will be placed at another location in the mall.
