Cops: 3 in chicken, gorilla costumes steal boy’s bike

A 15-year-old boy had his bike stolen by three thieves dressed in gorilla and chicken costumes Monday afternoon, Suffolk police said.

Police said the boy was confronted by two subjects wearing gorilla costumes and another subject wearing a chicken costume while he was riding his bicycle in front of 346 Route 25A in Rocky Point at about 1:15 p.m. Monday.

The boy fell off the bike after he was punched in the head by one of the subjects dressed as a gorillas. The chicken-costume wearer took off with the bike, while the two donning gorilla outfits ran off on foot.

The victim was transported to St. Charles Hospital in Port Jefferson with minor injuries and released.
