Councilman Panico receives award from Touro

Brookhaven Town Councilman Dan Panico received the second annual Keith Romaine Elected Official of the Year Award at Touro Law School’s winter reception on Jan. 27.

Touro Law School created the award to honor Romaine, a 2003 graduate who served on the Brookhaven Town Council before his death in 2009. Panico was elected to succeed Romaine on the town board.

“I could not think of a better person than Dan Panico to receive this award,” said Suffolk County Legis. Ed Romaine, who accepted the inaugural award last year on his late son’s behalf. “In choosing Dan they have chosen a tireless and dedicated elected official who does a great job representing all of his constituents.”
