ExploreLI.com offers you an outline of what's happening around some of Long Island's downtowns for this holiday season.

Today, Huntington Town begins offering free parking downtowns, while the first Huntington Harbor Parade of Lights will take place tonight at 6 p.m. starting at the Huntington Yacht Club.

Meanwhile, the town is hosting a Holiday Parade and Festival starting at 6 p.m. tomorrow.

It's mostly quiet in other downtowns, with events starting next Friday, Dec. 3, in the villages of Babylon, Port Washington and Port Jefferson.

Community journalist TC McCarthy will be taking the pulse of the villages of Babylon, Lindenhurt and Farmingdale before heading to the boat parade in Huntington tonight, so look out for him and say hello.
