With school districts starting to put together recommended lists of supplies students will be needing in a few weeks, Assemb. Dan LoSquadro (R-Shoreham) will be holding a back-to-school supply drive all month in his office at 400 W. Main St. in Riverhead.

Different school districts have their own lists of recommended supplies for different grades, and those lists can be found by calling a local school district or on its website. Everything from back packs to pens and notebooks will be accepted.

The school supplies may be dropped off weekdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and they will be distributed to outreach centers and other not-for-profit agencies in LoSquadro’s district, which covers Southold, Riverhead and northeast Brookhaven.

The last time LoSquadro held a similar drive seeking coats for the needy in January and February, he collected and distributed more than 1,000 coats.
