The Village of East Hills is not just a community for its residents, but for its pets as well.

That’s evident not only by the dog park it erected in The Park at East Hills five years ago, but by the social network it has set up around the park in the last year.

Like the dog park at The Park at East Hills but don’t want Rover to play alone? Then check out the live webcam on the village’s website before you go.

The program is called “Playdates” Village Mayor Michael Koblenz said, it has helped to form new friendships not only between pooches, but their owners as well.

“It’s community at its best,” said Village attorney Bill Burton.
