Islip Town is partnering with agencies and industry representatives in a renewable energy expo it is hosting tomorrow aimed at helping residents garner the best bang for their buck from advances in new technologies.
The expo, at the Town Hall West Gymnasium, 401 Main St., will also focus on energy saving measures, including air sealing, insulation, compact fluorescent lightbulbs and other measures.
Residents wanting to learn ways to save money and improve their homes’ energy efficiency or sign up for free energy audits of their homes can visit the expo between noon and 8 p.m. New advances in solar, wind and geothermal energy will also be on display, officials said.
“We hope Islip residents take advantage of this free educational opportunity,” said Paul Fink, executive director of Islip’s Community Development Agency.
The town is partnering with Long Island Green Homes in Islip, the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority, United Way, and Community Development Corporation of Long Island.
