Local politicians, environmental groups and state officials will join state Sen. Kenneth LaValle (R-Port Jefferson) in discussing environmental issues facing his district at a roundtable meeting on Thursday, Feb. 9.
The roundtable discussion will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Selden campus of Suffolk County Community College’s Babylon Student Center, Montauk Point Room 212.
More than 60 participants are expected to attend and talk about issues ranging from the Pine Barrens to water quality and light pollution, and zoning and development.
The discussion is “audience-driven,” said LaValle spokesman Drew Biondo.
The goal of the discussion is to help LaValle devise his legislative agenda for the coming year.
LaValle will be joined by Assembs. Fred Thiele Jr. (I-Sag Harbor), Daniel Losquadro (R-Shoreham) and Dean Murray (R-East Patchogue).
The public is invited though seating is limited.
