'Fifth disease' no reason to pull kids from school

Have no fear, there’s no reason to pull your kids from North Ridge Primary School in Commack.

That was the message last night from the school’s principal, who sent an e-mail notice alerting parents that a student in the school has "fifth disease."

The disease, which the school notes is a very mild illness with either no symptoms or a slightly runny nose, sore throat and a rash that may come and go over five weeks, requires no treatment and will go away on its own.

Sorry, kids, no hooky.
