Final 2010 Homeowner Cleanup day Sunday

The eighth and final Homeowners Cleanup program for Oyster Bay Town residents is set for Sunday, November 7, according to Town Councilwoman Rebecca M. Alesia.

According to a press release, residents in the town’s Solid Waste Disposal District may take non-hazardous rubbish to the Solid Waste Disposal Complex on Bethpage-Sweet Hollow Road in Old Bethpage.

Alesia said in the release that the program accepts bushes, tree limbs, fence posts, used tires, large metal items in excess of four feet, clean fill, clean broken concrete, boats, boat trailers, passenger cars, vans, pickup trucks and small trailers.

Residents can come any time between 8:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. and must show proof of ownership of any boats or trailers as well as proof of residence.
