Some of the best fish stories on the East End will be shared Tuesday, when nine old-time Montauk commercial fishermen sit down with two historians to discuss the state of their industry at a free round-table discussion at the Inlet Seafood Restaurant on East Lake Drive.
The discussion of the industry’s past and future begins at 4 p.m. People who want to stay for dinner at 7 p.m. will have to pay $35.
Perry Duryea, who's known as Chip, and Stuart Vorpahl, both of whom have been involved with commercial fishing for decades, will talk about regulations and how they have changed. Carl Darenberg, operator of the Montauk Marine Basin, will be the program narrator.
More information can be obtained at the Montauk Chamber of Commerce, 631-668-2429, or the Montauk Marine Basin, 631-668-3900.
