The state will hold its annual Spring Family Fishing Festival on April 13 at Belmont Lake State Park, officials announced Tuesday.
Festival activities will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and are free of charge. Participants won’t need a fishing license.
Activities will include fishing instruction and fly-casting demonstrations. The state Department of Environmental Conservation will provide loaner rods and free bait, although supplies are limited so participants are encouraged to bring their own fishing tackle if they have it. Fish cleaning services also will be provided.
Before the festival, the DEC will stock the lake with brown, brook and rainbow trout.
