Nassau County Executive Edward Mangano announced Monday that in recognition of Memorial Day, the Nassau County Rifle and Pistol Range will offer free entry for veterans and active military on May 26 during regular operating hours, from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Free coffee, beverages and snacks also will be available.

The Nassau County Rifle and Pistol Range is the only such facility open to the public in Nassau. There are six ranges and 30 individual shooting points available, and targets can be set from 5 yards to 30 yards.

The range is located at the Mitchel Field Athletic Complex in the “Hub” area in Uniondale, just west of the Nassau Coliseum.
