The Hofstra Law School’s Veterans Legal Assistance Project will host a clinic to offer free legal assistance to veterans on Nov. 9.

The event will be held at the Maurice A. Deane School of Law’s room 303, at 121 Hofstra University in Hempstead Village, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Last April, the project’s first event assisted more than 70 veterans by providing answers to legal questions and services.

Veterans will receive free consultation from attorneys who specialize in elder law, tax, wills, estates, family law, the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs’ benefits and claims, disability, employment, the Uniformed Services Employment and Re-employment Rights Act (USERRA) from the U.S. Department of Labor, housing, bankruptcy, debtor/creditor matters, Medicare/Medicaid, landlord-tenant disputes and other issues.

For more information or to make an appointment, contact the Hofstra Veterans Legal Assistance Project at VLAP@hofstra.edu or call 516-463-7302.
