Long Island GLBT Services Network in Bay Shore is expanding and will open a community center in Nassau County in October.
The 8,000-square-foot center in Garden City will occupy space in an office building next to Roosevelt Field mall. Renovation of the space is expected to take two months.
Expanding to Nassau County will allow the network to expand services to more gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender youth, adults and families, chief executive David Kilmnick said. The network works to end homophobia and transphobia on Long Island, provide a safe space for the GLBT community and advocate for equality.
