Hempstead Village Mayor Wayne J. Hall Sr. is to deliver on Wednesday his fourth annual State of the Village address, focusing on his vision for the village, his accomplishments over the past seven years as mayor and the progress of the downtown revitalization project.
The $2 billion plan is to include a combination of condominiums, co-ops and rental apartments that will accommodate all income levels. It would also include a hotel, shops, open spaces, parking and entertainment.
The entire project could take about a decade to complete, developers have said. The project is expected to create more than 3,500 permanent jobs and 10,000 construction jobs, developers and village officials have said.
Hall’s address is scheduled at 7 p.m. in the community meeting room at the Hempstead Public Library on 115 Nichols Ct. in Hempstead.
