Smithtown teenagers are invited to join a free, four-week leadership training program.

The program, sponsored by the Smithtown Youth Bureau, is open to high school and middle school students in the Smithtown, Kings Park, Commack and Hauppauge school districts. The deadline for enrollment is Friday.

Participants will be trained to develop leadership, communication and decision-making skills. The group will discuss issues such as problem-solving, stress and anger management.

The hourlong program will be held at 4 p.m. on Oct. 23 and 30, and Nov. 6 and 13. Sessions will be in the Community Room at the Horizons Counseling and Education Center, 161 E. Main St., Smithtown.
