The group in charge of finding a way to repair the Mastics-Moriches-Shirley library building while keeping it open for the community will meet at 7 p.m. Monday at the library, 407 William Floyd Pkwy., Shirley.
The meeting of the ad hoc advisory committee is open to the public. There will be a presentation on facility issues, and the meeting will be videotaped.
The library building was originally to close Oct. 1 for 16 months for a $5-million renovation, with programs moving off-site and a small satellite library temporarily housing a portion of the collection.
Officials said the cost of the renovations would be covered by the operating budget to avoid increasing taxes on residents, but that would mean the library could not afford to stay open during the renovations.
After community outrage over the closure, library officials formed the ad hoc committee to seek other solutions.
