Lindenhurst approves appointments, bids

The Village of Lindenhurst made several employee appointments and accepted various bids during a recent board meeting.

Vincent Wadsworth was appointed a probationary full-time laborer in the department of public works at a starting salary of $8.25 per hour.

Tom Brielmeier was appointed a full-time seasonal laborer at a starting salary of $7.75 an hour.

Dave Delacruz was appointed as a per diem Emergency Medical Technician at a rate of $14 per hour.

Also authorized was an additional $2 an hour for custodial duties as assigned by the fire department.

The village also accepted the resignation of Marie Powers, deputy chair of the zoning board of appeals, and approved the appointment of David Curry as a member of the board.

The board also accepted the following bids:

Louis Barbato Landscaping in Holbrook for $47,994 for Poured in Place Safety Surface at Lindenhurst Village Park. Funding will come from the county’s parks grant.

Doug Mees, Inc. All Island Plumbing in Holbrook for $8,250 for the installation of three drainage basins on North Hamilton Avenue and South 13th Street. Funding will come through the state’s Consolidated Local Street and Highway Improvement Program funds.

The board also approved final payment of $6,333.35 to Commander Electric Inc. of Bohemia for pedestrian and traffic safety improvements on South Wellwood Avenue. Funds will come from a county grant.
