Little League makes a comeback in Wyandanch

After more than a decade without baseball, Wyandanch is forming Little League baseball and softball teams.

There will be sign-ups on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Wyandanch Community Resource Center at 1585 Straight Path. The league teams are for children age 5 to 18 who live within the Wyandanch School District. Wyandanch will play against the 16 other Little League teams in District 34.

Those interested can also sign up at the center during the week from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and online registration at www.wyandanchll.org will soon be available.

Proof of residency, such as a driver's license, is required from the parent or guardian. Parents and guardians will also be required to submit a copy of the child’s birth certificate. The fees range from $60 to $115.

The league is also looking for adult volunteers to assist. Those interested can call 631-335-6494 for more information.
