Little Shelter Animal Rescue wins $1,000 in online contest

Huntington-based Little Shelter Animal Rescue recently won a $1,000 grant in an international animal adoption group competition, grabbing the most online votes of any New York operation.

A total of 77 grants, ranging from $1,000 to $10,000 were awarded in The Animal Rescue Site's All-Star $100,000 Shelter+ Challenge to adoption groups in the United States, Canada, Mexico and Costa Rica.

Voting took place from May 17 to August 22.
