Suffolk police's Sixth Precinct is seeking help identifying and locating two women who stole cash from a Target store in Medford.

On March 23 at about 4:40 p.m., two women were making a purchase when the women allegedly attempted to confuse the cashier by asking for change. When the cashier was making change, one woman twice took money from the drawer to show the cashier what she wanted and secreted bills in her hand and then placed them in her purse.

Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 800-220-TIPS.


SMITHTOWN: There is a new road construction layout on Route 347 (Nesconset Highway) westbound between Mount Pleasant Road and Route 111 (Hauppauge Road).

Friday night's forecast is overcast skies with thunderstorms, rain showers and fog overnight. The low will be 54, with winds coming from the southeast at 5 to 10 mph. The chance of rain is 50 percent.

Saturday's forecast is for overcast skies with a 60 percent chance of rain and  thunderstorm and a high of 70. Winds will come from the southwest at 10 to 15 mph.
