The Longwood Board of Education will hold its biannual Community Forum event Thursday at Longwood High School in Middle Island.
The event “offers residents an opportunity to express their viewpoints to the Board of Education,” district spokeswoman Myra Vaughn said in a statement.
Superintendent Allan Gerstenlauer will make a presentation to the school board and the community about the state of the district, focusing on Longwood’s economic outlook, Vaughn’s statement said.
The program will also include a presentation on a proposal to maintain district facilities, the statement said.
Speakers from the public will be limited to three minutes and assigned a speaking time on a first-come, first-served basis, the statement said. Written comments will also be accepted, according to the statement.
The event begins at 7 p.m. at the high school, 100 Longwood Rd., Middle Island. The forum will be followed by a regular school board meeting.
