The Town of Oyster Bay will hold an informational meeting Wednesday to discuss its $4-million road improvement project on Jackson Avenue in Syosset.
Officials are expected to cover how long the work is expected to last and how commuters will be affected. The long-awaited improvements include repaving, drainage, new sidewalks and turning lanes and the straightening of a dangerous curve.
Jackson Avenue is one of Syosset’s busiest routes, connecting Jericho Turnpike with the community’s downtown. The project, $3 million of which is being funded by Nassau County, covers a one-mile stretch of road south of the railroad tracks.
Wednesday’s meeting will begin at 7:30 p.m. at the Syosset High School auditorium at 70 South Woods Rd. in Syosset.
