If you’re anything like me, you’ve been anxiously awaiting the grand reopening of Buckley’s Restaurant, at 386 Main St., in the heart of downtown Center Moriches.

Once a lively and popular family eatery, Buckley’s was the scene of a fire several summers ago. The restaurant is expected to open sometime in May, according to Moriches Chamber of Commerce Treasurer Geraldine Sapanaro.

Sapanoro also said the recently vacated Moriches Steakhouse, at 361 Main St., is also set to reopen in May as Seacove Restaurant under the building’s owner Chris Gianokas. This will be a reincarnation of sorts, as Gionakas had operated the location as Seacove years ago.
