Standup comedy and bands paying tribute to Billy Joel and Queen are among the shows in this year’s Nesconset Summer Concert Series.
The six shows, which begin next week, are free. Fans are asked to bring nonperishable food for donation to Long Island Cares and the Harry Chapin Food Bank.
The concert series will open July 5 with a show by Almost Queen, a tribute band that plays music by the 1970s British rock group.
On July 12, Uppercut, a horn group, will perform music by bands such as Chicago, Steely Dan, and Blood, Sweat and Tears.
Other shows include the Billy Joel tribute band Songs in the Attic, July 19; That 70s Band, July 26; and jazz singer Jerry Costanzo, Aug. 2. The series will conclude Aug. 9 with a comedy night.
All shows are scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m. at the Nesconset Gazebo on Smithtown Boulevard.
