Brookhaven Town today unveiled a new website designed to lure tourists to Long Island’s largest town.
The site - www.VisitBrookhaven.com - went live around 11 a.m. The top of the web page reads: “From sound to sea . . . the place to be.”
The website “will feature attractions of interest to out-of-town and local tourists,” said Supervisor Mark Lesko, who added that it is a “new marketing tool” for Brookhaven.
The website includes information about outdoor activities, restaurants and performing arts in the town. The home page features a picture of Lesko and a statement that the town offers everything from “art museums to zebras . . . and everything in between.”
Visionary Graphics of Patchogue created the site. Lesko and the firm’s president, Henry Bramwell, attended an unveiling ceremony at town hall yesterday. Town officials said the cost of the website was $17,000.
Brookhaven is Long Island’s largest town by area. It also has the largest population of Suffolk County's towns.
