A New Hyde Park teenager performed at Hewitt School in Manhattan Saturday for a youth festival that celebrates talents in technology, entertainment and design.
Blaise Sandberg, 16, sang at TEDxYouth@Hewitt, which was designed to bring people together to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group, according to the event’s website. Sandberg performed her YouTube single “Gossip Kills,” a song about the perils of bullying and teenage socialization. The song has received nearly 1,800 views in the last month.
Sandberg said she writes based on personal experiences, but cited positive messages for girls as one of her muses. “Gossip Kills” originally debuted at The Arts Effect NYC “Girl Power” event at the Cherry Lane Theatre in Greenwich Village.
