New member joins Babylon review board

The Town of Babylon has appointed a new member to its assessment review board.

Town board members at their regular meeting last month appointed Walter Edwards of North Babylon, who works in the architectural field. The five-member board, which reviews tax grievances, also includes Chairman Anthony Almo of Babylon, a former trustee and deputy mayor of Lindenhurst Village; Robert Flink, an attorney from Lindenhurst; Thomas Humphrey, a pastor from Amityville; and Karen Crescione, of Deer Park, a special monitor for Candlewood Middle School in Dix Hills.

Almo’s compensation is $9,750, while the other members receive $8,750. All members must receive state certification before they can serve on the board. The board began meeting Tuesday and will continue to meet four nights a week through the end of July.
