The Town of North Hempstead is accepting nominations through Feb. 3 for its 19th annual women’s roll of honor.
Town Supervisor Jon Kaiman said he encourages residents “to help us honor the women who have made a difference in the town by submitting their names to the nominating committee.”
The breakfast event named in honor of former Town Supervisor May Newburger will be held March 22 from 8 to 10 a.m. at Harbor Links in Port Washington.
Town Clerk Leslie Gross, chairwoman of the event, said, “The tradition of honoring the extraordinary women who have made the North Hempstead community a more wonderful place continues.”
The event is to celebrate women who have made a contribution to their community, possess a special personal talent, or have accomplished a significant achievement, town officials said.
To nominate someone, call 311 from within the town or 516-869-6311 outside the town and ask for Stephanie Sajous.
Residents can also download a form at the town website at www.northhempsteadny.gov (click on “Town Clerk”).
